On March 12-13, 2014, Barbara and Ruth Ann attended the industry’s annual Florida Tourism Day in Tallahassee, Florida, where Governor Rick Scott gave a speech. Among other things, Scott’s focus was on state government and the part it plays in Florida’s most profitable industry.
Industry representatives from around the state where present for the event, including Tallahassee legislators and government leaders. The 2014 Florida Tourism Day hosts included the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, the Florida Attractions Association, the Florida Association of Destination Marketing Organizations, the Florida Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, the Florida Association of Museums, Film Florida, Florida Sports Foundation and VISIT FLORIDA, to name a few.
